10 Resume writing tips
1. Know the purpose of your resume
The objective of your resume is to land an
interview, and
the interview will land you the job.
So, make your resume
short, interesting and
informative.

attaching your picture to the resume.

Do not use long
paragraphs of text. Make sure
to use bullet points
and short sentences to
describe your educational

professional experiences.
4. Use action verbs
Action verbs
are basically verbs that will get noticed
more
easily. That will also clearly communicate what
your
experiences or achievements are. Examples
include
managed, directed and planned.
5. Use
numbers
You need to be more specific in
certain areas of your
job responsibilities. For
example: Mention the exact
percentage of growth you
have achieved in sales.
Try to give figures like 40%
/ 94% etc., wherever
applicable.

Avoid negativity
Make your resume
positive. Do not include information
that might sound
negative.
7. Update your resume regularly
Add all the new information that you think is
relevant to
make sure that you will not end up
sending an obsolete
document to the employer.
8. No pronoun
You resume should
not contain the pronouns “I” or “me.”

Proofread your resume
Check and recheck
your resume for errors in spelling,
grammar or
punctuation. A simple typo can eliminate you
from
consideration. Proofreading it once is not enough;
so, do it twice, thrice or as many times as necessary.
